Terms and Conditions
This document states that we have made you aware of the commitments, expectations and regulations at
Kathy's Dance Academy for the 2022-2022 dance season. Upon registration, you agree to the following conditions:
Class Conduct:
At Kathy's Dance Academy, we want all of our students to have an enjoyable and educational dance experience. We will treat you and your children with courtesy and respect. We expect our students to show the same attitude toward their teachers and fellow dancers.
It is important for parents and students to understand that dance class is not the same as your grade in school. In most cases, the class will progress as a group but not all the time. Every child will be challenged in each class to compete against themselves not others. At the teacher's discretion, students may be placed in a different class based on ability.
The instructors hold the right to dismiss a student from class for justified reasons (i.e distraction of class, lack of respect towards fellow dancers and/or instructors, improper attire, late payment, etc.)
Kathy's Dance Academy is not responsible for classes missed by students. Classes will not be made up if a student misses for personal reasons. Missing too many classes may result in dismissal from that particular class.
It is the responsibility of the parents to drop off and pick up their young children from the studio in an adequate manner.
Late Payments:
A student may be dismissed from class due to late payment. Additional administrative charges may be applied for late payments.
Dress Code:
Please put your child’s name and phone number inside the instep of all shoes. The studio is not responsible for lost or stolen articles. DO NOT wear dance shoes outside. Wearing dance shoes outside ruins the sole and also tracks dirt, oil and gravel into the studio, causing damage to the dance floors.
Students in Saturday morning ballet/tap combination classes are expected to wear leotards and tights, skirt optional. Ballet slippers and tap shoes are required and may be purchased through the studio.
Students in Saturday morning jazz/tap combination classes are expected to wear BLACK tight-fitted tank tops or t-shirts and BLACK dance shorts / leggings. Jazz shoes and tap shoes are required and may be purchased through the studio. *Jazz shoes must be TAN*
Students in ALL hip hop classes are expected to wear ALL BLACK. No excessively baggy clothing will be permitted. Clean indoor running shoes/sneakers are required.
Students in WEEKNIGHT jazz/tap combination classes are expected to wear BLACK tight-fitted tank tops or t-shirts and BLACK dance shorts / leggings. Jazz shoes and tap shoes are required. *Jazz shoes must be TAN*
Students in jazz/lyrical/contemporary class are expected to wear BLACK tight-fitted tank tops or t-shirts and BLACK dance shorts with tights or bare legs. Bare feet or foot Undeez required.
Year End Dance Recital:
Our rehearsal and end-of-year dance show will be held on a weekend at the end of May, 2022.
Ticket prices are to be determined for our 2022 recital. Seating will be assigned at the time of ticket purchase. Tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis. Please note that there are no refunds on tickets.
Costumes will be required for every class - the cost will range from $85 to $120 per costume. Costumes for extra dances may consist of "street clothes". Selection of costume is non-negotiable. If a student is no longer attending the dance show for any reason after agreement of costume purchase, the student is still responsible for payment of costume.
